Prior to being given authorization to prescribe controlled substances
and utilize the EPCS functionality throughout the system, those users
that have been enabled for EPCS need to authenticate their IdenTrust token
with the proper provider account in the system. This is performed via
the Provider Token Linkage dialog. Only users that have been enabled for
EPCS are allowed access to this dialog, otherwise access to the dialog
will be disabled.
Use the following steps to link your provider account to the IdenTrust
token.
Click Edit >
System Tables > Electronic Prescribing > EPCS Token Linkage.
In the Provider Token Linkage dialog, to link
the token to your provider account, insert the IdenTrust token, and then
click the Load button.
The Token Information will then load. If the information
is correct, click the Link button
and the token will then be linked to your provider account.
NOTE: Only one user can be linked to an IdenTrust token and corresponding
certificate. Whenever a user tries to link to a token that is already
linked to another user, a warning will be generated informing the user
that the only one token certificate can be linked to a single provider
at a time and list the provider already linked to the token.
Once a provider is linked to a token, you have
the ability to unlink that provider from the token, if needed, by accessing
the Provider Token Linkage dialog, and then clicking the Unlink
button when the Token Information appears.
When finished, click the Close button.
