Match an Unmatched Refill Request

When a refill request is received that cannot be automatically matched to a patient, you have the ability to manually match this refill to the correct patient. Unmatched refill requests are typically due to the medication being originally entered in a 2.10 database. Use the following steps to match an unmatched refill request.
 

 

  1. In the To-Do List you will see an Refill Request -Unmatched to Patient/Med.



     

  2. Open the patient’s chart.
     

  3. In the patient's face sheet, find medication and renew the medication. Or, if the medication is not there, prescribe the medication.
     

  4. Close out of the patient's chart.
     

  5. In the To-Do List, double-click the Refill Request. The Match Refill Request dialog will appear.
     

  6. In the Select Patient list, highlight the applicable Patient.
     

  7. The associated medication should appear in the Select Patient Medication list. Highlight the Medication, and then click the Match button. The system will then match the refill request to the patient, and the reminder will be removed from your To-Do List and put a reminder on the provider’s To-Do List.



     

  8. The provider can then open the patient's chart, right-click the medication in the Face Sheet, and select Process Refill Request to complete the refill.
