Write access to the location where installation media is stored on the STI Computer Services network is limited to a small number of employees who update it and is kept in a read-only mode for all other users. This network location is scanned nightly for all malware using ESET products, along with all machines that have read access to it. This is configured during the installation.
The ChartMaker® Clinical has no known functional conflicts with any anti-virus or malware scanners. We as an organization require and support the installation of ESET products on both Standalone and Client/Server installations. To ensure that our applications performance is not degraded by virus and malware scans, we recommend that system scans be configured during "off-peak" times when the product is not in use. There are no directories within our product that cannot be scanned due to conflicts and we recommend that all folders be included during the scanning process.
Network security and intrusion detection in networks installed and maintained by STI Computer Services are done at the network gateway level. All routers sold and configured by STI have both NAT and Firewall functionality to ensure that access to the network is given only to authorized IP addresses. As such, we do not recommend the operation of host based firewalls, as workstations and tablet computers within these networks are already protected at the gateway level.
