Use the following steps to edit a patient representative for a patient.
From the patient's open chart, click the ID tab.
In the Patient Representative section, highlight
the Patient Representative you
want to edit, and then click the Edit
button.
In the Patient Representative dialog, add or modify
the Type, Name,
Address, Relation,
and Phone Numbers as needed.
If the patient is enrolled for the PatientPortal,
add or modify the Email for the
patient representative as needed.
NOTE: When entering an email address, if it is not entered correctly,
a warning message will appear indicating the email address is not in the
correct format. A valid email format will include an at symbol "@",
with valid text appearing before and after the @, a period ".",
and an extension following the period (i.e., johndoe@hotmail.com).
When finished, click the OK
button. The updated information will then appear in the Patient Representative
list.
NOTE: If Patient Portal Representative type is selected for the representative,
a Patient Portal Authorization dialog will appear confirming access to
the patient's PatientPortal account. Click the Yes
button to authorize the patient representative. After the Yes
button has been clicked, the system will send a registration email to
the address in the Email field,
and the representative will then appear in the Patient Representative
list.
