Click Tools >
Code Mapper.
In the Code Mapping dialog, click the Unit
of Measure Mapping tab.
In the Legacy UoM Search section, select the applicable
Show Only option (All
Units of Measure or Unlinked Units
of Measure), and then enter any applicable Description
in the field below, to filter the unit of measures displayed in the list.
NOTE: When entering text in the description field, partial descriptions
are acceptable when filtering unit of measures. Likewise, you can also
modify the Search Column and Search Type fields below to further define
your search.
Once the applicable unit of measure has been located,
highlight that unit of measure in the list below. The description and
any old unit of measure will be displayed in the Legacy UoM section on
the bottom-left of the dialog.
Next, in the New UoM Search section, select the
applicable Show Only option (All Units of Measure or
Unlinked Units of Measure), and then enter any applicable Code or Description
in the field below to filter the unit of measures displayed in the list.
NOTE: When entering text in the description field, partial descriptions
are acceptable when filtering unit of measures. Likewise, you can also
modify the Search Column and Search Type fields below to further define
your search.
Once the applicable Unit
of Measure has been located, highlight that item. The unit of measure
and description
will be displayed in the New UoM section on the bottom-right of the dialog.
To link the selected legacy unit of measure with
the selected new unit of measure, click the Link
To button. If a unit of measure was linked incorrectly, click the
Unlink button to unlink the legacy
unit of measure with the corresponding new unit of measure.
Repeat steps 3 - 7 to link any other unit of measures
to the applicable procedure codes, as needed.
Click the Unit
of Measure Builder button to access the Unit of Measure Builder
dialog to create and duplicate codes to link to legacy codes in Unit of
Measure Mapping tab of the Code Mapping dialog.
In the Unit of Measure Builder dialog, enter any
applicable Description or Code in the Search field at the top
of the dialog.

are acceptable when filtering unit of measures. Likewise, you can also
modify the Search Column and Search Type fields below to further define
your search.
Once the unit of measure has been located, double-click
that code, and it will be activated in the Name and Code fields at the
bottom of the dialog.
You have the ability to attach a symbol or symbols
to that code (which will appear after the code) by using the Symbol
drop-down field, and then modify the Name and Code by using the Backspace button. When finished click
the Create and Close, or Create button.
NOTE: You can also select a string of values and codes to be used as
single record, if desired.
You can also delete any user-created unit of measure
that has not been linked to a legacy code, by searching for and highlighting
the applicable unit of measure, and then clicking the Delete
button.
When finished creating codes, click the Close button.
When finished linking and creating codes, click the Close button in the Code Mapping dialog.
