Insert Dictation Text into Multiple Chart Notes

You have the ability to insert dictation text into multiple chart notes, if needed. Use the following steps to insert dictation text into multiple chart notes.

  1. In the ChartMaker Clinical Voice Application dialog, highlight the Text you want to insert into the chart note.

  2. Click File > Post Data To ChartMaker. The highlighted text will then be inserted into the chart note of the patient that is currently opened. If there is a dictation marker in the note, the dictation will go there. If there is no marker then the program will ask you if you want to put the text where the cursor is in the patient's note. Click the Yes button.

  3. Close the patient's chart.

  4. Open the other patient's chart you want to insert the dictation text into.

  5. Switch back to the ChartMaker Clinical Voice Application dialog, and then click File > ReLoad Last Posted Dictation. The highlighted text will then be inserted into the chart note of the patient that is currently opened. If there is a dictation marker in the note, the dictation will go there. If there is no marker then the program will ask you if you want to put the text where the cursor is in the patient's note. Click the Yes button.

  6. Repeat steps 3 - 5 until the dictation text is inserted into all of the desired chart notes.

  7. When finished, close the ChartMaker® Clinical Voice Application.
