In order for the computer to recognize your voice, you need to train it. Voice files are created after you read an excerpt to the computer. This process typically takes up to 10 minutes. Use the following steps to create and train a voice file.
Open the ChartMaker® Clinical
Voice Application and wait for the Speaker to load in the bottom
right of the window.
Click Voice >
Tools > Accuracy Center.
Click the Perform
additional training link.
In the General Training dialog, click the Go button.
When the yellow arrow appears, read the text in
the window below.
In the Select Text dialog, highlight the level
of reading you would like to perform, and then click the OK
button.
NOTE: Medical options are at the bottom of the list. The first reading
(“Talking to your Computer”) is helpful to explain how the ChartMaker® Clinical
Voice Application interprets your speech.
When the yellow arrow appears, begin read reading
the paragraph in the window below.
NOTE: If you need to take a break, click the Pause
button, and then click the Go
button to resume. Your progress can be viewed in the Start to Finish bar
below the text.
When the reading is complete you may be asked
to perform adaptation. Click the Yes
button. Wait while the ChartMaker®
Clinical Voice Application processes the dictation data. This process
could take several minutes; however, it typically does not last as long
as the estimated time indicates.
When the process is complete, it will take you back to the Accuracy
Center. You can now begin dictating in the ChartMaker Clinical Voice Application
window.
