Use the following steps to dictate in the ChartMaker® Clinical Voice Application.
Access the ChartMaker® Clinical
Voice Application.
Once the ChartMaker Clinical Voice Application
opens, look at the bottom right of the window to make sure the Speaker
is the voice file you are going to use. If you need to switch users, click
the Voice menu, and then select
the correct User.
Once the correct user is selected, click the Microphone icon in the top right of
the editor to turn the microphone on and begin dictating in the ChartMaker
Clinical Voice Application window.
NOTE: To pause the dictation process, say “Go to sleep.” To resume
the dictation process, say “Wake up.” You must speak a command like you
are ordering the computer to do something. In order for the Clinical Voice
Application to recognize your speech as a command versus text that you
want to appear, you must change the inflection of your voice.
When you are finished dictating, you can either
Insert
the Dictation into a Chart Note
or Insert
the Dictation into Multiple Chart Notes.
If you are finished dictating, turn off your microphone by clicking on the icon. NOTE: In the event your dictation does not get inserted into ChartMaker® Clinical, go to File > Reload Last Posted Dictation. This will attempt to insert the text again.
