The Lab Interface

ChartMaker® Clinical provides the ability to receive BioReference, LabCorp, and Quest test results electronically into your system. When enrolled and set up for with a lab interface, the STI Health Portal receives electronic lab result data from the various laboratory facilities, processes it, and then sends the data electronically to the server at your medical office. Once received by the server at your office, the data is then stored in the appropriate patients chart within ChartMaker Clinical. A reminder will display in the To-Do List of the provider who ordered the lab. If a provider was carbon-copied on a lab result, a reminder will also be placed on that provider’s To-Do List. The reminder will be removed from the To-Do List once the lab is signed or transferred to another user. In addition, when applicable, the system will automatically update information in patient flow sheets with data contained lab reports.

If the lab report is missing any of provider data then the lab report will not go to the physician's To-Do List since it does not know whose to-do list to go to. Likewise, when patient data is missing or incorrect the unmatched lab report will need to be associated with a applicable patient via the lab viewer. These types of lab reports will appear in the To-Do List of the user that has the Lab Notification privilege, allowing that user to assign the patient as needed in the Lab Viewer.

When lab results are associated with the correct patient they will open as a separate chart note and you have the ability to add additional comments to the lab report as well as sign and transfer lab reports to other users.
