Macros are created to speed up the dictation process of routine text. The routine or common text is saved and recalled by saying a word or phrase. The act of saying the phrase and the text appearing is performing a macro.
Macros are user-defined but can also be shared among users. If there are statements that are always used in a note, instead of dictating them every time, you can create a macro. For example, if you want the text, “Chest clear to auscultation” to appear in your note, but do not want to say that every time, you could create a macro. The name could be “Chest Normal”. Recalling the phrase “chest normal” will print the statement “Chest clear to auscultation” in the note.
The following topics will walk you through creating, importing, and exporting macros. Select the topic you would like to perform.
